Adjusting your relationship to cyberspace? Tired of your online persona and looking to try something new? We’re seeking proposals for browser-based creative endeavors of all kinds.
Welcome to my Homepage is an international online residency program and non-traditional art venue hosted by The Museum of Human Achievement in Austin, Texas, USA for the creation and appreciation of new net art.
Founded in 2014, Homepage offers artists a low-stakes opportunity to experiment and explore the web as a site for creative production. Welcome to my Homepage has hosted over 150 artists from across the world wide web.
Who is this for? As collaboration between UNESCO Cities of Media Arts, Oulu and Austin, this round is open to applicants in the Oulu, Finland area. We are especially looking for proposals that consider digital culture from a northern perspective, bring an Arctic point of view, or take inspiration from the edges rather than the center. All types of creative folks welcome to apply, especially if you haven’t had an opportunity like this before. No coding necessary!
About the opportunity
We provide a user-friendly web builder, virtual studio visits, promotion for your project, and a 500 € compensation. Online residency dates are January 8-31, 2027. Projects will be featured online for four months and at pop-up exhibitions at Frozen People in Oulu (Feb 2027) and The Museum of Human Achievement in Austin (Spring 2027), alongside projects from three Austin artists.
